I'm not really sure what to think about Drinks TV yet, though really, what I think doesn't matter much; what will make or break this beverage alcohol retailer in-store video provider will be determined by end-user retailers.
At least one is already on board.
"DrinksTV's content is both informative and entertaining and appeals to customers at all levels. The advertising encourages people to try new products" said Jim Valenty, owner of Pasadena Liquors, Pasadena, Florida. "I see the network in action when customers ask me questions about products they have seen featured on the network, and this happens quite often."
In concept, this is a good idea as a way to stimulate interest in cocktails, but judging by a few of the clips I viewed, the cocktails were underwhelming. The new drink recipes I saw were mostly one-note, overly sweet concoctions, and the free-pouring was inconsistent and sloppy. Take a look - tell me what you think.
